Breaking: The annual inflation figures are in

Written by ASU - Queensland Together branch | 5 February 2024

In today's economy, with rising living costs from high rent to expensive groceries, many are struggling. Despite new tax cuts and lower inflation, it's not enough. A substantial pay rise is essential for relief.

The battle for fair wages is ongoing. Last year, Australian Services Union (ASU) members won an 8.6% increase for minimum wage earners and 5.75% for Award wage workers. Yet, our work continues.

In 2024, we're advocating for pay rises in the Annual Wage Review. Our stance is clear: Australians deserve higher wages, not just to match inflation but to surpass it. Unity and collective demand are crucial for securing a fair wage increase.

Your support has been vital in past victories, and this year, it's again essential. Together, we can achieve significant wins for workers. Let's maintain our momentum and push for a just wage increase, ensuring our collective voice leads to meaningful change for millions.
